Corporate Membership – Helping Your Local Communities
The Credit Union is a not for profit savings & loans co-operative. It is dedicated to encouraging people to save rather than borrow, but also provides low cost loans at times of need. The credit unions’ unique ‘Saver Loan’ sees all borrowers build up savings as they repay their loan, reducing and ultimately eliminating the need to borrow over time. It services are of particular help to the less privileged people in our community.
Corporate Membership is for organisations rather than individuals. Businesses, charities, sole traders and voluntary groups in Barnet or Camden or City of London or Hackney or Haringey or Islington can become corporate members. They can then place sums on deposit with the credit union. Sums on deposit will attract the same dividend rate as individual members. By depositing funds with us rather than a High Street Bank you know that the organisation money is helping the local community. Deposits may be withdrawn upon request.
Deposits up to £85,000 are protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) for organisations with assets up to £1.4m. In the same way as the rest of the financial services industry the deposits of large organisations are not covered by the FSCS. Further information can be found at: http://www.fscs.org.uk/
If your organisation would like to open a Corporate Membership Account with your local credit union, please complete the form available on the ‘Forms Page’ of this website.
